Squirrel Away is a private file storage app run by Aaron Cohn for his immediate family. It isn't open to the public, and only people Aaron has invited can sign in.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. We use them only to let you in and to show who's who on the family page. We store the files you upload, along with their names, sizes, and the folders you put them in.
Where it lives
Files are stored with Backblaze B2. Account details and file information (names, sizes, folders) are stored with Supabase. The app runs on Vercel. All three are in the United States.
Who can see your files
Only you. Other family members can't see your files or their names. The admin sees only how much storage each person uses. Because Aaron operates the storage, he could technically access stored data, and he promises not to.
What we never do
No ads, no selling or sharing your data, and no using your photos or files to train AI.
Deleting things
Deleted files stay in Trash for 30 days and are then permanently removed. If you'd like your account and everything in it deleted, just ask and it will be done.
